    An official transcript is an academic record issued by the Registrar's Office. Official UCI transcripts list courses taken at UCI and the grades received in those courses. Official transcripts are printed on watermarked, security paper and include the University Seal and the signature of the University Registrar.      

    How to Obtain an Official Transcript


    In order to provide the fastest service to our students and alumni, UC Irvine has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide online transcript ordering. To order a transcript, login to the Clearinghouse secure website.

    The online service includes a step-by-step ordering process, including delivery options, attaching documents, and fees which can be paid using any major credit card. Multiple transcripts with multiple destinations can be ordered during a single online session.

    Orders may be placed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your order will be processed during regular Registrar Office business hours. Typically, transcripts are sent within two business days after processing begins. (Transcript processing does not occur during University holidays and recesses. Therefore transcripts ordered during Winter Recess will not be processed until the University reopens in January.)

    A $2.25 service charge is assessed by the Clearinghouse for each unique destination address in your transcript order. The Clearinghouse service charge is in addition to the regular UCI fees for transcripts. Your credit card will be charged for all fees due after your transcripts have been sent.

    A signed consent form is required to fulfill your transcript order. The consent form will be generated at the end of the ordering process. You must sign this form online, or print and return it to the National Student Clearinghouse via fax, mail, or as a scanned email attachment. Do not send the consent form to UC Irvine.

    If your signed consent form is not received by the Clearinghouse within 30 days of your online order, the Clearinghouse will cancel your order. You will not be charged for the canceled order. Once your order is canceled, you must submit a new transcript order.

    In Person
    1. Complete and sign a Request for Official Transcripts Form, available in the main lobby outside of the Registrar's Office.
    2. Pay the applicable fees at the Central Cashier during business hours. The Central Cashier does not accept credit or debit cards.
    3. Submit your validated Request for Official Transcripts Form to the Registrar's Office. 
    • Valid photo identification is required.
    • If you would like to "Hand Carry" your transcript, a sealed transcript will be available in a few minutes.  (Orders of 20 copies or more may take longer.)
    • Requests to mail or fax your transcript are processed within five business days of receipt.
    • Express shipping of your transcript is available for requests received before noon, and will be sent out the same day. Additional fees apply.

    Extension and Medical Students

    Extension Students:
    The University Registrar does not maintain records for course work taken through the Division of Continuing Education (University Extension). If you need transcripts for continuing education courses, visit the UCI Division of Continuing Education website.

    Medical Students:
    The University Registrar does not issue transcripts for students of the School of Medicine. If you are a medical student (not including pre-med) and require a transcript, contact the School of Medicine.

    Resending Your Official Transcript

    If after thirty calendar days of your official transcript being sent it has not been received by the recipient, you may request that it be resent free of charge. The resent transcript must be sent to the same recipient address as specified on your original transcript request. Once ninety days has passed since the date your official transcript was initially sent, you may no longer request a resend free of charge. You always have the option to reorder your transcript.
