Registration at UCI Last Updated:  Jun 27, 2008, 1:34 PM PDT

Registration at UCI consists of two separate steps that must be completed to be officially registered:
  1. enrollment in classes
  2. payment of fees.

During the regular registration period, you may enroll in classes via WebReg before paying fees. Both steps must be accomplished by the deadline to avoid late service charges.

The Registrar's Office can provide you with a current class receipt verifying that you are officially registered when your enrollment in classes and payment of fees have been completed. You may also verify official registration via WebReg or StudentAccess, and your account status via Zot Account Online.

It is against Academic Senate policy (SR 542 and IR 340) for you to attend classes before paying fees online or to the Cashier and officially enrolling with the Registrar's Office.

Undergraduate Academic Counseling

You are urged to seek and follow the academic advising directions of your school or program. You may obtain advice on courses, requirements and plan a course of study with your academic advisor before enrolling in classes.

Before enrolling, you are urged to study the degree requirements and the descriptions of courses offered, both of which are published in the UCI General Catalogue. Note that some courses are subject to pre-testing before enrolling. See Placement Testing for dates.

Enrolling in Classes

Use UCI's web-based registration system WebReg to enroll in classes from anywhere in the world. WebReg requires access to the internet and use of a web browser.

Once your enrollment window opens, you have 48 hours of full access before you are restricted to non-prime time access (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) while other students' enrollment windows open on an established priority basis.

Check the Quarterly Calendar for the registration period and other important dates.

·To avoid late fees...

Students must be enrolled in classes before the end of the second week of instruction. Students enrolled in zero units and/or enrolling after the end of the second week of classes are assessed a $50 service charge for late enrollment: See Registration at a Glance for details.
