Readmission Last Updated:  May 02, 2007, 3:19 PM PDT

Readmission is neither automatic nor guaranteed. An undergraduate student who wants to return to UCI after withdrawing from a quarter of enrollment or an absence of one or more quarters must file a Readmission or Second Baccalaureate Application form with the Registrar's Office. If the absence is for three quarters or longer a Statement of Legal Residence form must also be completed and filed. You must obtain the signature of approval from the dean of your major, submit transcripts for any academic work completed since last enrollment at UCI, and pay a $60 nonrefundable fee at the Cashier's Office. Readmission filing deadlines are as follows: fall quarter, August 1; winter, November 1; spring, February 1.

Upon completion of a degree program, students who wish to pursue a second baccalaureate degree at UCI must first petition for and receive approval to re-enter as a second baccalaureate student using the same procedure mentioned above.

A graduate student who has previously withdrawn from the University or whose student status has lapsed may request readmission to the Graduate Division by submitting a new Application for Graduate Admission. The $60 nonrefundable Application Fee, a new statement of purpose, and transcripts of any additional academic work completed since last enrollment at UCI must be submitted; submission of new letters of recommendation is advised. If the absence is for three quarters or longer a Statement of Legal Residence form must also be completed and filed.
