the UCI Office of the Registrar and Student Academic Information Systems.

The Office of the Registrar / Student Academic Information Systems (ORSAIS)
upholds the mission of the University of California by providing educational
support services in an atmosphere of prompt, accurate, and friendly customer
service. ORSAIS functions include student services and academic record
management; residence determination for fee tuition purposes; course
scheduling; degree and diploma processing; student academic information
systems management; administration of regulations and policies of the Academic
Senate and as prescribed in the Bylaws and Standing Orders of the Regents, of
the University of California; maintenance of archives; and systemwide
reporting of enrollment, courses and degrees awarded.
ORSAIS seeks to fulfill its mission:
- through a commitment to high quality service based on the principles of mutual
respect, fairness, and excellence, as well as an understanding of the dynamics
of interpersonal communications and a sensitivity to the differences in the
needs and backgrounds of the individuals we serve;
- through provision of information about registration, academic records,
residence status, and degrees while protecting the privacy of the individual;
- through use of the latest technology and procedures that will enhance student,
administrative and faculty services while ensuring the integrity,
confidentiality and security of academic records and information;
- through leadership and assistance in the development and modification of
policies and procedures to better serve the UCI community;
- through a professional staff committed to excellence and who exhibit and
practice good public and employee relations, adaptability, cooperation,
initiative, flexibility and consideration of others within and outside the office.
