New Procedures for Add/Drop/Change Requests (Effective Monday, September 21, 2009)

Add/Drop/Change cards will no longer be used during the first two weeks of instruction for undergraduate courses. EAD (Electronic Add/Drop) will be implemented for all undergraduate courses during the first two weeks of instruction. As a result, enrollment changes during the first two weeks of instruction will now be made through WebReg only.

These changes DO NOT apply to graduate courses or undergraduate courses in the School of Social Ecology.

WebReg enrollment ends at 5pm on Friday of the second week of instruction. Add/Drop/Change cards will be used from the 3rd week of instruction through the last day of instruction.

Changes in fee

There is no longer a fee for processing Add/Drop/Change cards through the third week of instruction. The $3 fee is required beginning the fourth week of instruction through the last day of instruction.

For students who already have a signed Add/Drop/Change card

Add/Drop/Change cards signed during Spring and Summer quarters of 2009 for the upcoming Fall 2009 term will be honored through Friday, October 9, 2009.

For Undergraduate Courses in the School of Social Ecology

Add/Drop/Change cards will still be used during the first two weeks of instruction for courses not designated EAD. To see if a course has been designated EAD, refer to the EAD column in the Schedule of Classes (SOC).

Undergraduate courses in the School of Social Ecology include:

  • CRM/LAW - Criminology, Law, & Society
  • ENVIRON - Environmental Analysis & Design
  • PP&D - Planning, Policy, & Design
  • PSY BEH - Psychology and Social Behavior
  • SOCECOL - Social Ecology

See our Quarterly Academic Calendar for enrollment deadlines.

Changes in Restriction Codes

B Code

Courses designated with a B restriction code require a 4-digit authorization code from the instructor or department in order to fulfill an Add/Drop/Change request via WebReg. A student may use the B restriction authorization code for multiple enrollment transactions (add, drop, and change) for the authorized course.

Example:
  • A student wishes to enroll in a course with a B restriction and is given the authorization code 1234 by the instructor. The student may then use the code 1234 to add the course. The student then decides to take the course for Pass/Not Pass rather than a receiving a letter grade, and is able to again use the code 1234 in order to change the grading option for the course. The student later decides to drop the course and does so using the same 1234 code.
X Code

Courses designated with an X restriction code require a unique 4-digit authorization code from the instructor or department in order to fulfill an Add/Drop/Change request via WebReg. A student may use the unique X restriction code for a single designated enrollment transaction. Further enrollment transactions will require the student to obtain an additional authorization code.

Example:
  • A student wishes to enroll in a course with an X restriction and is given the authorization code 5678 by the instructor to add the course. Later the student wishes to drop the course. The authorization code 5678 will not work to drop the course. The student must request a new unique code from the instructor or department in order to drop the course.
